The long-awaited Nokia 8 flagship phone parts wholesale will launch on 16 August, after HMD Global sent out media invites for an event in London.
Even with several leaks and rumours, we still don't know the full specs list of the 8, although we do know what it will probably look like thanks to a leak from Evan Blass.
The main feature of the phone we don't know everything about so far is the camera. HMD and Zeiss have confirmed a partnership, that will see the return of Zeiss Optics to a Nokia handset, but it will be the first time the technology has featured on an Android-powered Nokia phone. We're expecting a dual-lens 13-megapixel camera, but this hasn't been confirmed and doesn't yet have enough leaked evidence to support the claims.
We also don't know for sure the screen size of the Nokia 8, with both 5.5-inch and 5.3-inch screens being suggested. In either case, it should be a 2560 x 1440 resolution, putting it in contention with the other flagships released in 2017 and it will likely run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, with a possible 6GB of RAM backing it up.
Expandable memory is a feature that should be included on the 8, since the other Nokia phone spare parts released this year have it, and a 3.5mm headphone port is expected to feature on the top.
Design-wise, the Nokia 8 should offer an all-metal build, with IP68 water and dust protection and a rectangular block shape.
With the 16 August launch date drawing closer, it won't be long until we find out for sure what HMD Global and Nokia have up their sleeves. We'll be sure to bring you the latest news and hands-on next month.
